With simpler but super comfortable facilities and an unparalleled view of the Keys, we chose this RV park as one of the best in Florida.

We go there every year at the end of May when it’s hot but not too crowded. The scenery is very stunning. The location is also fantastic, with plenty of opportunities to explore all of the keys. Make time to see the sunset from the bridge and go snorkeling. The sand bar stretches far out, and there’s a lot to view! Heat, wetness, and bugs are all to be expected!

The sites are tiny but workable, with good screening between them. There’s some river kayaking and hiking to be done. The medieval Koreshan community is the primary attraction. The hike follows the river for a short distance. There are numerous animal snakes, gopher tortoises, and other tortoises to see, as well as some impressive huge bamboo from the old gardens. Stop and listen to the bamboo if it’s windy! The antique buildings and information are fascinating, with strange beliefs and well-kept grounds. absence.

Snowbirds flock to Okeechobee for its seemingly endless activities and the possibility of staying for extended periods. Show off your golf skills on the 9-hole course or driving range. Every snowbird requires a refreshing dip in the pool. There are two large pools, one of which is exclusively for adults.

Tennis, pickleball, and a recreation center are available at the KOA for athletes. The Big O trail, a 100-mile trail that circles Lake Okeechobee, is a must-see for avid hikers.

10. Monument Lake Campground, FL

The Monument Lake Campground is conveniently located near Big Cypress National Preserve if you want to explore Florida’s celebrated natural areas. Explore the diverse range of wildlife and tropical and temperate plant species found on the shores and inside the swamps of Big Cyprus.

The campground at Monument Lake is open from August 15th to April 15th. Winter campers can stay for up to 14 days, while snowbirds can move around the preserve and stay for up to 180 days in a year. Monument Lake has restrooms, drinking water, and 25 RV sites. Because this is a primitive campground, there are no electrical, sewage, or water hookups. Reserve your site on www.recreation.gov.

Around a charming lake, there are plenty of RV places, and that is why this is one of our recommended RV Parks in Southern Florida. We camped in a tent-only campground a little further out from the lake. They were wide apart and didn’t appear to be overcrowded. The weekend we tented there, it appeared that every site was taken. In the tent-only campgrounds, there is no shade, and since this is south Florida, I recommend bringing a pop-up or tarp to protect yourself from the sun. They had some really nice fire rings, which were tall and had a grate across the top. There is a single structure with restrooms and showers, fairly clean.

12. Westgate River Ranch Resort & Rodeo

Just an hour south of Orlando, the Westgate River Ranch Resort & Rodeo is located in south Florida it is an RV park and rodeo that offers a taste of the wild west.

The resort pays homage to “Old Florida’s” western tradition, which was previously dominated by cowboys and cattle ranchers. I think what we found most novel and appealed especially to the children is that we did not expect to find a rodeo in Florida! And when you think of Orlando, surely a rodeo doesn’t come to mind, right? That’s why we choose the Westgate River Ranch Resort & Rodeo as one of the best RV parks in Southern Florida on our list for the 2022-2023 season.

The ranch is situated on 1,700 acres of property with a stunning view of the Kissimmee River.

In 2013, the resort underwent a multi-million dollar renovation, so you won’t be roughing it during your time at Westgate. Horseback rides and the award-winning Saturday night rodeo are available to guests. Don’t miss the adjacent Trap and Skeet Ranges, which provide expansive vistas of the sky.

At the Westgate River Ranch, there are 15 RV sites accessible, each with its own restroom and shower.

We went to the Westgate River Ranch a few years ago and had a great time. The campground is wooded and has hookups. They just refurbished the entire building, and I can’t see it being any better. The rodeo that took place over the weekend was fantastic.

South Florida is a terrific area to visit whether you’re searching for a spot to escape the cold weather of winter or a place to take the kids for summer vacation. I love the Florida Keys.
