Koreshan (core-resh-in) was originally used as a base for visiting family in Naples. The campground is mostly made up of two circles, one within the other. The campground at Monument Lake is open from August 15th to April 15th. Winter campers can stay for up to 14 days, while snowbirds can move around the preserve and stay for up to 180 days in a year. Monument Lake has restrooms, drinking water, and 25 RV sites. Because this is a primitive campground, there are no electrical, sewage, or water hookups. Reserve your site on www.recreation.gov.
Around a charming lake, there are plenty of RV places, and that is why this is one of our recommended RV Parks in Southern Florida. We camped in a tent-only campground a little further out from the lake. They were wide apart and didn’t appear to be overcrowded. The weekend we tented there, it appeared that every site was taken. In the tent-only campgrounds, there is no shade, and since this is south Florida, I recommend bringing a pop-up or tarp to protect yourself from the sun. They had some really nice fire rings, which were tall and had a grate across the top. There is a single structure with restrooms and showers, fairly clean.
